How Adoption Works

Three Steps.
One Hedgehog. For Life.

01
01

Fall in love first.

Browse our residents above. Read their stories. When one makes you want to check on them at midnight — that's your hedgehog.

No paperwork yet. Just a name.

Build the home.

A proper outdoor hedgehog house (we'll send plans), cat biscuits at dusk, and a garden without slug pellets. That's genuinely all it takes.

We send a free house-building guide.

Come meet them.

A 20-minute visit at the rescue. You hold them (with gloves). We answer every question. Then the paperwork — one page, ten minutes.

Home check by video call, not in person.
Meet Your Hedgehog — Start the Application

Takes 10 minutes. No home visit. Just love and cat biscuits.

Have a Regular.

612 gardens across Essex and Suffolk now have a hedgehog with a name, a house, and someone who waits up to see them.

Gerald (formerly)

He showed up at 11pm on the third night. We sat on the patio and watched him eat for twenty minutes. Best evening of the year.

Clover

My class voted on the name. They check the camera footage every Monday morning. It's become the highlight of the week.

Hazel

The kids built the house themselves from the plans Quill sent. Hazel arrived six weeks later. They check every morning before school.

Pippa

I put the camera up expecting nothing. Pippa visited four nights out of seven in the first week. I've become a person who watches hedgehog footage at breakfast.
